New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was on hand for a game between the New York Knicks and New Orleans Pelicans — a game won by the Knicks — at MSG on Sunday night.
After the 122-112 overtime thriller, Jones decided it was a prime opportunity to catch up with a former Duke classmate, Zion Williamson, who was the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.
Unfortunately for Jones, he wasn’t the only one looking to have a moment with Williamson. In fact, the 20-year-old power forward was swarmed by Knicks fans, some of whom rushed passed Jones without hesitation. Others ushered Jones off to the side, where he stood sheepishly as New York fans took pictures with Williamson.

here is the moment I was talking about, where the quarterback of the New York Giants got told “sir, excuse me, can you stand on the side for a second, I’m trying to take a picture of the famous athlete” https://t.co/PMIkckpffH

Awwkkwaarrdd…
“New York is the mecca of basketball. I love playing here. I played here in college, and this is my first time playing here in the pros. This atmosphere, whether they’re cheering for you, whether they’re booing for you, it’s amazing,” Williamson told reporters after the game. “Honestly, I think outside of New Orleans obviously, I think this might be my favorite place to play, outside of New Orleans. I can’t lie to you.”
And New York clearly loves Williamson, too. More than Daniel Jones apparently — at least for now.
