Zinedine Zidane has been branded a ‘disgrace’ by Gareth Bale’s agent as the Welshman heads for the exit door at Real Madrid.

Speaking on Saturday, Zidane said that he ‘hopes’ Bale leaves Real soon and expects him to seal a transfer away from the Bernabeu imminently.

Zidane wants rid of Bale at Real Madrid

After leaving the former Tottenham star out of Real’s matchday squad to face Bayern Munich in Houston, Zidane said: “He wasn’t included in the squad because the club is working on his departure and that’s why he didn’t play.

“We’ll have to see what happens in the coming days. We’ll have to see if it goes through tomorrow, if it does then all the better. Let’s hope, for everyone’s sake, that it happens soon. The club is dealing with the club that he’ll move to.

“We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.

“I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done. I have to make decisions. We have to change.”

Bale’s six-year stay at Real is coming to an end

Zidane’s comments and harsh treatment of Bale have not gone down well with the player’s agent, Jonathan Barnett.

Bale has won four Champions League titles at the Bernabeu since joining Real from Tottenham in 2013 for a then-world-record £86million.

Barnett said: “Zidane is a disgrace, he shows no respect for a player that has done so much for Real Madrid.”

He added to BBC Wales: “We’re working on a few things. Gareth is a Real Madrid player but if he does leave it will be his own decision, not Mr Zidane’s.”

Bale is likely to have a string of clubs interested in securing his services, with Manchester United continually linked with a move.

But, speaking to talkSPORT earlier this week, Barnett rubbished claims he could rejoin Tottenham.
