Tottenham fans got their first glimpse of Tanguy Ndombele on Sunday – and he didn’t take long to make an impression.
The French midfielder became the Premier League club’s record signing when he completed a £55million move from Lyon earlier this month.
He was named on the bench for the pre-season clash with Juventus in Singapore on Sunday before being introduced for his debut on 64 minutes.
Spurs were trailing 2-1 at the time -Cristiano Ronaldo having put the Italian champions ahead after Gonzalo Higuain had cancelled out Erik Lamela’s opener.
But a minute after Ndombele’s introduction, Tottenham were level, with the midfielder the creator of the equaliser.
Intercepting a cross-field pass in the Juve half, the 22-year-old drove forward and played an inch-perfect pass through to Lucas Moura in the box, which he duly stabbed home.
Ndombele then went close to scoring just moments later, firing narrowly wide from long range.
The exciting cameo from the Frenchman had supporters feeling enthused about their new signing and the club’s prospects this season.
He’s certainly got a lot to live up to!
Tottenham went on to snatch a 3-2 win, courtesy of a stunning halfway line strike from Harry Kane.
