The Pittsburgh Steelers started their first official day of offseason team activities on Tuesday. With the workouts being volunteer, and the NFLPA encouraging players to not participate, exactly who and how many players showing up for the Steelers remains to be seen.
With limited access to information during these workouts, we here at Behind The Steel Curtain are doing our best to compile the information into one spot as to what is going on at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex as the Steelers have the chance to get their 2021 team together for the first time. Below is a compilation of information from various Steelers beat reporters who have limited attendance during the workouts. Information will come in chronological order from top to bottom to the best of our ability.
Steelers had about 75 percent of their roster at the first day of on-field OTA work.

Cam Heyward says guys are going to come in and out during OTAs and expects “100 percent participation” at mandatory minicamp in a few weeks.

Cam Heyward said the players and organization had several “open and honest” conversations about how to handle the voluntary offseason workouts. He added, players didn’t want to have a lot of contact at first and do gradual ramp up.
