The Yankees had better find a remedy in a hurry. They were just swept over the weekend in Detroit by one of baseball’s worst teams, and next up are seven in a row at home by the top two teams in their division, four against the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays and then three against the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees and Rays’ series begins with a Memorial Day matinee at Yankee Stadium. First pitch on Monday is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. YES will televise the game.

The Rays are the hottest team in the majors with 15 wins in their last 16 games, including four in a row. They also are 6-3 this season against the Yankees, who won the last series by taking two-of-three at Tampa Bay from May 11-13.

Monday’s pitching matchup has right-hander Jameson Taillon (1-3, 5.06) going for the Yankees against Rays 41-year-old left-hander Rich Hill (3-2, 3.63).

Hill has faced the Yanks twice this season and won both games while allowing four runs over 12.2 innings (2.84 ERA).

Taillon’s only start this season against the Rays didn’t go well, as he allowed four runs over 4.2 innings in a loss at Tampa Bay on May 13.

The Yankees’ lineup excludes catcher Gary Sanchez with Kyle Higashioka getting the start and Miguel Andujar is playing left field instead of Clint Frazier.
