The Rays won the series opener on Monday, prevailing 3-1 in a Memorial Day matinee to hand the Yankees a fourth loss in a row. Tampa Bay has won 16 of its last 17 and leads the season series 7-3.
The pitching matchup is Yankees right-hander Domingo German (4-3, 3.06) vs. Rays righty Tyler Glasnow (4-2, 2.57).
The Yankees’ lineup doesn’t include shortstop Gleyber Torres, who committed three errors in his last two games, or designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton, who was 0-for-12 with eight strikeouts in his first three games since returning from the injured list.
