ST. LOUIS —
Adam Wainwright was transparent about another fine outing Monday, breaking down what went well and how he navigated himself out of trouble in the Cardinals’ 4-2 win over Miami at Busch Stadium.
He delivered an honest assessment of his start — six innings pitched, four hits, two earned runs, three walks and six strikeouts, his second quality start in as many opportunities — and the Cardinals’ recent struggles as of late.
“I know we have not been playing great ball, but got a sneaky suspicion that things are gonna turn around real quick for us,” he said. “What we just went through I think is going to help us in the long run. We’re gonna overcome this.
“Well to two things, right, either we will or we won’t.
