Former WFAN host Mike Francesa was left speechless, like most of us, after the New York Yankees lost to the Boston Red Sox, 5-4 in 10 innings Thursday at Fenway Park.
Here’s all Francesa could muster on Twitter: “Have to admit: Four wild pitches in one inning is an inventive way to lose.”

Francesa was referring to Brooks Kriske, who became the first Yankees pitcher to uncork four wild pitches in one inning when he did so in the 10th inning, coughing up a 4-3 Yankees lead.
Instead of a dramatic, extra-innings victory, the Yankees were left with another heartbreaking loss. It also left the Yankees eight games out of first place in the American League East rather than six games.
The Yankees will try to bounce back on Friday when they send ace Gerrit Cole to the mound.
