For a second straight week, Michigan’s football team will open the game week as a betting favorite.
Oddsmakers on Sunday afternoon unveiled game lines that set the unranked Wolverines as slight favorites in their Saturday night showdown against Washington (8 p.m., ABC), a game that may have lost some its luster after the Huskies were stunned in their season opener.
At the time of this writing, Michigan is a 5-point favorite at popular sportsbook DraftKings and 5 1/2-point favorite at competitors PointsBet and Caesars Sportsbook. BetMGM and FanDuel, both with retail sportsbooks inside Detroit casinos, had not yet released their lines for the game.

Michigan (1-0) is coming off a dominant 47-14 win over Western Michigan in its season opener on Saturday, a performance fueled by the Wolverines’ rushing attack. Not only did they win the game, but the 17-point favorites were also able to cover the spread with ease.
Meanwhile, ranked Washington was upset, 13-7, by visiting Montana, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision and 22 1/2-point underdog. The Huskies (0-1) will likely fall out of the AP Top 25 poll later this week.
The Wolverines entered the season flying under the radar of oddsmakers, who set Michigan’s regular-season win total at 7.5 games. Back in May, FanDuel oddsmakers set Jim Harbaugh’s team as a 2 1/2-point underdog for its game against Washington.
After a week of football, those models have changed. And barring a dramatic shift in money being wagered, Michigan will enter another game as the betting favorite.
