Giants vs. Washington Football Team injury news: Saquon Barkley expected to play – Big Blue View
Uncategorized

Saquon Barkley is expected to play Thursday night for the New York Giants against the Washington Football Team, coach Joe Judge said on Monday afternoon.

Barkley is coming off reconstructive knee surgery following last season’s major knee injury. He played Sunday vs. the Denver Broncos, carrying 10 times for 26 yards and catching one pass for another yard.

Barkley said Sunday night that “nothing alarmed me” about how his knee felt during the game.

“I thought he responded well. He came out of the game good for us,” Judge said. “ I didn’t see any setbacks.

“Unless the medical team tells us something else our intention is going to be to keep on progressing this guy throughout the season … our plan at this point would be to go ahead and put him in the game plan.”

(Estimated as Giants did not practice}

Did not participate

LB Cam Brown (hamstring)
TE Evan Engram (calf)
G Shane Lemieux (knee)

Limited participation

RB Saquon Barkley (knee)

Engram went through a long workout prior to Sunday’s game in which he ran routes and appeared to move well, but this would indicate that perhaps he will miss a second straight game.

Lemieux, trying to play through a partially torn patellar tendon, played only 17 snaps vs. the Denver Broncos. Ben Bredeson played 44. On a short week, perhaps Bredeson gets the start.

Brown’s hamstring injury is a new development, and the severity is unknown.
