Behind him is a No. 2 draft pick waiting for a slip, and ahead of him is the No. 1 defense in football.

Amid one of the crazier weeks in his life, in which he again is a starting quarterback, Mike White does not lack confidence.

“If you ask me, I should’ve been a first-overall pick,” said the No. 171 pick in 2018. “But that’s neither here nor there. That’s four years ago.”

After one season with the Cowboys and a roller-coaster ride with the Jets, White can try to prove talent evaluators wrong again Sunday against the Bills.

The Jets are riding the White-hot hand and giving Zach Wilson and his knee another week to heal. They have not guaranteed Wilson will be their starter for the rest of the season and left the door open for White, who threw for 405 yards in their win over the Bengals in Wilson’s stead before exiting their Week 9 loss to the Colts with a forearm injury.

White said he is feeling better, and the fifth-round pick, who transferred out of Southern Florida before finishing his college career at Western Kentucky, thinks he can take this opportunity and prove he is one of the league’s better passers.

“I definitely believe that,” White said Thursday after Jets practice in Florham Park. “I think if you ask any quarterback in the NFL and they don’t give you that answer, then that’s kind of an issue.”
