The Arkansas football program has 22 commitments in the Class of 2022, including transfers, and 21 are expected to sign a National Letter of Intent with Sam Pittman’s Razorbacks throughout the day on Wednesday during the early signing period. In addition, two more key Razorback targets are set to commit and also sign with the program they select.

The two players still deciding are Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb wide receiver Samuel Mbake, 6-3, 205, and Lafayette (La.) Acadiana cornerback Laterrance Welch, 6-1, 180. Mbake is announcing this morning and is deciding between Georgia, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Welch won’t make his decision public until later in the afternoon. He originally committed to the previous LSU coaching staff and is making a final choice between the Hogs and Tigers. Mbake is a four-star recruit on 247Sports’ site rankings. Welch is a 247Sports Composite four-star recruit (combining all three major recruiting services), and checks in as the No. 112 overall prospect in the nation.
As for the current recruits on board, as of right now they make up what is the highest-ranking recruiting class at Arkansas in the history of the 247Sports Composite Ranking, (11 years), and that’s still true when retrofitted back 20 years to the Class of 2002 when the current model of team sites first began.
Recruits may sign as early as 7 a.m. local time, so expect early signatures from Arkansas’ commitments in South Carolina and Georgia… And in Australia where punter Max Fletcher resides, signing day for him has already come and gone… -Trey Biddy
