Denver quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was carted off after lying motionless on the field following a 6-yard scramble where he appeared to hit his head on the ground. Bridgewater was taken to an area hospital during the third quarter of the Broncos‘ 15-10 loss to the Bengals (8-6). He will stay overnight in the hospital for observation, but after the game, Broncos coach Vic Fangio said “everything is checked out good to this point,” about his status.

Bridgewater dove while rushing for a first down, was hit by linebacker Joe Bachie and remained on the ground after appearing to hit his head. He was tended to by medical personnel before being carted off the field.

The crowd chanted: “TED-DY, TED-DY!” while Bridgewater was being looked at. Bridgewater had movement in his extremities and was taken to the hospital via an ambulance as a precautionary measure.

Drew Lock checked in at QB for the Broncos after Bridgewater was taken off the field. Lock finished 6-of-12 for 88 yards and threw a touchdown pass to receiver Tim Patrick.

The loss is a blow to Broncos (7-7), who are fighting for a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Bengals improved their chances and kept themselves in the hunt for their division title behind three Evan McPherson field goals and a Joe Burrow touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd.
