Alan Brazil blasts handball law after missed penalty in Manchester United vs Arsenal – ‘It really is rub

talkSPORT’s Big Alan Brazil was amazed Manchester United were not awarded a penalty for a handball during Monday evening’s Premier League draw with Arsenal.

Moments before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cancelled out Scott McTominay’s opener with a well-taken goal, the ball appeared to strike Sead Kolasinac’s arm in the Arsenal box.

No call was made, however, and Arsenal benefited as they went up the other end and found a way past David de Gea to secure a 1-1 draw that condemned Man United to their worst ever start to a Premier League season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United manager, believes his side deserved a spot kick for the missed infringement, saying after the match: “I thought so. You’d rather blow the whistle and check it after if you’re not sure.

“I was, and quite a few Man United fans were sure, that was a penalty.

“Then again, sometimes you get them, sometimes you don’t. We’ve got our share of those against us some we’ll get some at the end.”

And he is not alone in being convinced Kolasinac broke the law when the ball hit his upper arm, with Big Al irate when opening Tuesday’s Sports Breakfast with Ray Parlour.

While ex-Gunner Ray tried to argue that the decision to not award a penalty was correct as the ball hit Kolasinac above the elbow, Big Al was having none of it!

“I just don’t know what a defender has to do to give away a penalty now in his own box,” said talkSPORT’s famous host.

“Has he got to CATCH the ball?!

“There was one at the weekend where it was going in the bottom corner and it clearly hits his arm – not given.

“They’ve got to catch the ball these days.

“It really is rubbish!”

United remain stuck down in 10th having taken just a point from Monday’s match, with Solskjaer’s side picking up only TWO wins from their opening seven league matches this season.

Arsenal, on the other hand, moved up into the top four but will be disappointed to have come away with only a draw against a Man United side there for the taking.
