Alexis Sanchez has joined Internazionale of Milan on a season-long loan from Manchester United, the Premier League club has confirmed.
Sanchez, who was pictured in Milan earlier this week ahead of signing for Inter, has sealed a temporary exit from Old Trafford to end his nightmare in Manchester.
He has penned a season-long deal with Antonio Conte’s side, though it is understood United will continue to pay Sanchez around £300,000-a-week of his salary during his time in Italy.
The 30-year-old arrived to a huge fanfare in January 2018 in swap deal that saw out-of-favour Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Arsenal.
But flashes of early promise swiftly petered out and Sanchez heads to Inter having scored a meagre five goals in 45 appearances.
Sanchez reunites with former Man United team-mate Romelu Lukaku at the San Siro, with the Belgium forward joining Inter on a permanent basis earlier this month.
Lukaku scored on his debut for the Nerazzurri last weekend as they began the season with a 4-0 defeat of Lecce. Sanchez could make his debut for Inter during Sunday’s trip to Cagliari.
