It’s never quiet in Alfredo Morelos’ world.
He’s an extremely important player for Rangers having scored 27 goals in 33 matches this season.
But he does come with baggage.
The striker’s disciplinary record got out of control last season, having been sent off on FIVE different occasions.
He’s been a lot better this term after manager Steven Gerrard made a huge effort to control his temperament.
But the Colombian relapsed into his old ways during Rangers’ trip to Motherwell on Sunday after receiving his second yellow card for his over-exuberant celebrations.
In a way it was typical Morelos, as he produced a moment of quality to put his side 2-0 up with an assured finish before having a moment of madness.
The Rangers fans celebrated behind the goal but instead of going to them, Morelos decided to make his way over the the home supporters.
He then proceeded to do an offensive gesture at the furious Motherwell faithful.
Moments later, referee Don Robertson had no option but to give him another yellow card and thus send him off – Morelos’ first dismissal of 2019/20.
Fortunately for Rangers, it didn’t prevent them from getting the result as they held on to win 2-0. Nikola Katic scored their first goal.
On Morelos, Gerrard said: “He was looking dangerous and causing their defence lots of problems.
“I sensed it was going to come but this is probably his first minor mistake since he turned a corner.
“We’ve got no complaints, I know he’s been working hard at improving but we’ll reset him this week.”
