Eddie Nketiah has confirmed his loan spell at Leeds United has come to an end.
The Arsenal striker had joined the Championship club on a season-long loan deal but that has been cut short.
The 20-year-old posted on social media about the news on New Year’s Day.
He wrote: “Unfortunately my time @LUFC has come to an end. It’s been an amazing experience and a privilege to play for such an amazing club. I would like to say a big thank you to my teammates, the coaching staff and the manager for making my time here an enjoyable one.
“Lastly, a big thank you to all the wonderful fans for taking to me so quickly. I wish the club all the best and I’m sure you’ll get to the promised land.”
Nketiah made 19 total appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side and scored five goals.
His final appearance came in their 1-1 draw with West Brom on New Year’s Day but was substituted at half-time.
The Mail Online report the Gunners have been disappointed by his lack of first team action.
The England Under-21 striker will then be loaned out to another Championship club for the rest of the season, with the Robins reportedly confident of landing him.
Lee Johnson’s side tried to sign him in the summer but were piped at the final hour by Leeds.
They also face competition from Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday.
