Jack Wilshere has been recalled to West Ham’s squad for their Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The midfielder made his return during a Carabao Cup tie against Newport but was left out of their squad in their last Premier League match.
Meanwhile, the hosts have made two changes as Anwar El Ghazi and Marvelous Nakamba come in for Trezeguet and Douglas Luiz.
Villa have struggled so far this season but a win or a draw tonight will see them climb out of the relegation zone.
However, they did win their last home match with a 2-0 triumph over Everton and manager Dean Smith is hoping for a similar performance on Monday.
He said: “The last game at Villa Park, it was rocking.
“I thought the players got to a level where I believe they can consistently be, and need to be.
“We need to do that again under the floodlights on Monday.”
Meanwhile, the Hammers were in good form before the international break and have won their last two games.
In fact, a victory will put Manuel Pellegrini’s side up to third place and only behind reigning champions Manchester City, who are currently second, on goal difference.
Ahead of the trip to Birmingham, Pellegrini said: “We need to beat teams like Aston Villa, because last season there were a lot of teams around us that we lost to. Now we will see what happens this season.
“Villa have had some different results, bought a lot of good players and play an attacking style.
“I think that they are doing well, they must adapt to the Premier League still, but they have a very good team and a manager in Dean Smith who wants to play in an attacking way.”
