England launched a remarkable fightback on day two of the second Test against South Africa by reducing their hosts to 215-8 at the close of play.
Joe Root’s men appeared to be on the back foot after scoring a measly 269 in their first innings, but some extraordinary fielding from Ben Stokes helped them seize control in Cape Town.
Stokes took four catches at second slip, including a truly world class effort, as South Africa produced the sort of collapse we’ve become accustomed to from England in recent months.
Amazingly, Stokes also managed to drop two catches, but his heroic efforts quickly made amends as England enjoyed their best day of Test cricket in a while.
