Brendan Rodgers hailed James Maddison’s performance in Leicester’s 4-1 win at Aston Villa on Sunday.
The Foxes won an historic eighth Premier League match to maintain their unlikely title push.
Goals from Jamie Vardy (2), Kelechi Iheanacho and Jonny Evans ensured Leicester remained eight points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Maddison notched his third assist of the season when Evans headed in his corner kick – and a more clinical edge would have seen the England international get on the scoresheet, too.
Rodgers, whose side are now six points ahead of third-placed Man City, told talkSPORT: “James is incredible with his first touch.
“It takes him forward and he’s just got this magical eye for seeing the pass early.
“He missed a couple in the first-half, which surprised me, because he’s normally very, very good on that last pass. But I thought he was brilliant today.
“He was absolutely of a very high level. How he took the ball, his responsibility when he didn’t have the ball to press and run. He was amazing.”
Leicester could be talked about as strong title contenders if they beat Man City and Liverpool this month.
And Rodgers played down talk of a title push following their impressive display at Villa Park.
He said: “We just concentrate on ourselves, really, because we can’t really affect what Liverpool do, that’s the reality.
“They’re a brilliant team, Manchester City are a great team. So for us to even be talked about in that breath is just… we’ve earned [that right] over these last number of months of how we’ve worked together.
“So for us, it’s just about looking to develop our performance levels and keep moving forward.”
