FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Browns will have one of their key defenders back on Sunday. Linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is active and will play against New England.
Cornerback Greedy Williams, who was questionable, is inactive.
Owusu-Koramoah suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cardinals, the same game the Browns lost running back Kareem Hunt to a calf injury. Hunt has not been designated to return from IR yet.
The rookie has played in six games and started five and has seen his snap count steadily rise. He played in 91 percent of the team’s defensive snaps against the Chargers and 85 percent before leaving the Cardinals game.
Owusu-Koramoah and cornerback M.J. Stewart, who is active today, were both activated off of IR on Saturday. Owusu-Koramoah was questionable.
Remaining Browns inactives are safety Richard LeCounte III, linebacker Tony Fields II, defensive end Takkarist McKinley, wide receiver Ja’Marcus Bradley and defensive tackle Sheldon Day.
The Browns are playing Sunday’s game without running backs Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton, who tested postive for COVID-19. D’Ernest Johnson will start in Chubb’s place. Running back John Kelly and backup center Nick Harris are also both on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
McKinley was ruled out on Friday with a groin injury. It’s his second missed game of the season. He missed the loss to Pittsburgh in Week 8 and played just 12 snaps against the Bengals last week.
Patriots inactives are cornerback Shaun Wade, defensive end Ronnie Perkins, tight end Jonnu Smith, guard Yasir Durant, running back Damien Harris, quarterback Jarret Stidham and wide receiver Gunner Olszewski.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is the Browns captain for the game.
