Man City

Man City would have qualified for the last 16 if they had beaten Atalanta earlier this month, but could only draw.

City will be confident of progressing at the second time of asking when they host Shakhtar Donetsk, a team they beat 3-0 in the reverse fixture.

The Citizens just need to avoiud defeat to secure qualification and could well progress even if they lose should Atalanta avoid defeat against Dinamo Zagreb.

Tottenham

Back-to-back wins over Red Star Belgrade have put Tottenham in a much better position to qualify after failing to win their opening two games.

Victory over Olympiacos in Jose Mourinho’s first home match as manager will secure qualification to the last 16.

Tottenham let a two-goal lead slip in Greece in the reverse fixture, and will be aiming for a more comfortable night in north London.

Spurs could even draw to Olympiacos and still go through if Bayern Munich, who have a 100 per cent record in Group B, beat Red Star Belgrade (Crvena zvezda).
