Eddie Hearn has told talkSPORT his prediction for the Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury rematch has now been changed due to a rumour he heard about the ‘Gypsy King’s’ camp.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter initially fancied fellow Brit Fury to bring the WBC title home, live on talkSPORT February 22, however he has now been swayed by other factors.

Hearn explained on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “I thought [Fury] might win the fight, but I’ve heard a few things in the camp and stuff like that.

“Listen, it might be rubbish, but [now] I do think Wilder’s gonna win the fight by stoppage.

“I hope he doesn’t, I would love to see Tyson Fury make the fight because Tyson Fury will fight Anthony Joshua, he actually wants to fight Anthony Joshua.

“I know AJ wants to fight Tyson Fury. It’s a very quick deal to make with Tyson Fury.”

Pushed further for clarification on the rumours, Hearn added: “I don’t know, Tyson’s a maverick, he’s very clever.

“I was going to sign him actually, I blooming wish I should’ve. Two years ago we had a show in Monaco.

“He was about 30 stone, we sat down in the meeting, he was like sweating.

“I looked at him and thought, ‘You are never, ever, ever coming back.’ What he’s done has been incredible.”

Regarding Fury’s promises of a second-round KO, Hearn concluded: “Wilder doesn’t really have a chin, but Fury can’t really hit that hard in heavyweight terms.

“He can still really punch. If he hit Wilder clean, I’m sure he’d have him in problems.

“For me, Wilder should be more reckless in the fight.”
