A raging Fabian Delph appeared to scream ‘everyone is f**king s**t’ at his Everton team-mates… moments before putting the ball into his own net against Bournemouth.
But he was left red faced soon after as he deflected Ryan Fraser’s free-kick past Jordan Pickford and into the goal to give the Cherries a 2-1 lead.
Delph put in a decent display but overall Everton’s performance was a poor one as they slipped to their second defeat from five games this season.
And some fans have called for the 29-year-old midfielder to be given the captain’s armband after his display of passion at his side’s sluggish display.
Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson scored twice to down the Merseysiders at the Vitality Stadium.
The England man nodded the Cherries in front after a goal mouth scramble, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin then pulling Everton level with his own towering header from Richarlison’s cross.
Fraser came off the bench in the second-half and later fired his side into the lead again, via a deflection off Delph’s boot, and Wilson then took advantage of another Everton defensive error to lob Pickford and claim his brace.
It was the striker’s third goal in two games. Of the English players in the Premier League, only Raheem Sterling has been involved in more goals than Wilson since the start of last season.
