Gary Neville has branded kingpin agent Mino Raiola a ‘disgrace’ for his part in the transfer saga that surrounded Paul Pogba in the summer.

The French midfielder hinted he was ready to move on and was linked with with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However, the summer transfer window closed before any deal could be completed and Pogba has remained at Old Trafford until January at the very least.

Red Devil legend Neville believes the World Cup winner’s proposed exit from the club was manipulated by his agent Raiola, who was accused of doing the same by Sir Alex Ferguson when Pogba left United for Juventus back in 2012.

“[Pogba] wants to leave. He has made it clear,” Neville told Norwegian TV. “His agent is a disgrace and has been a disgrace all over Europe – not just for Manchester United.

“They must stop working with him. He doesn’t have the values you want in your club.

“My opinion is that Manchester United need not negotiate with him.”

“He will try to fix a transfer for his player, and will try to take part of the transfer sum himself. That’s how he operates.

Ferguson reportedly blamed Raiola for ‘ingratiating himself’ with Pogba and his family, and believed the agent engineered his move to Juventus –  despite United keen to give him a new contract.

“For Manchester United, it’s devastating. He is one of the best and most famous players in the world, but every week there are new issues,” Neville added. “There is always controversy. It’s probably not his own fault, but the fact is that it is devastating for a club.”
