The Florida State Seminoles have landed a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Kanaya Charlton. The 6-foot-5, 351-pound big man made the announcement on day two of his official visit to FSU.
Charlton is from Brunswick, Ga. and attends Brunswick High School. He’s been to FSU several times this offseason on unofficial visits and he was ready to make his commitment when he returned on an official visit.
“I’m committing because the coaching staff made me feel at home,” Charlton told Noles247 prior to announcing his decision. “Everything here is beautiful and I love it here!”
He shared more on his commitment via an edit he shared on social media to announce his decision.
“WOW! I never thought I would see the day where I would make such a big decision. Firstly I would like to thank the lord up above for all the gifts he gave me! Next, I would like to thank my family and coaches for pushing me to be the best player I can be and helping me have the opportunity to choose where I would go to for school! Finally, with all that being said, I am so happy and honored to say that I will be furthering my education and athletic career at Florida State University!!!! GO NOLES,” Charlton shared.

Charlton, who chose the ‘Noles primarily over the in-state Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, is expected to compete for a spot at guard once he arrives to FSU.
FSU offensive line coach Alex Atkins and area recruiter John Papuchis were the primary recruiters on Charlton. FSU director of high school relations, Ryan Bartow, also played a key role in his recruitment.
Charlton, who holds over 20 scholarship offers, is the No. 57 IOL and the No. 1159 best plover overall, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
