It’s the most wonderful time of the year for football fans, with endless Premier League action to enjoy.
Festive fixtures come thick and fast, meaning the table could have a completely different look when you tuck into your Christmas dinner in two weeks’ time.
The shuffle for places is set to intensify this weekend and we could see some dramatic changes by the end of matchday 17.
Newcastle, for example, could climb from 11th to fifth if results go their way, leapfrogging Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal – all of whom can slide into the bottom half!
One thing’s for certain, however. No matter what, Liverpool will be top of the pile come December 25, with a nine-point lead over Leicester heading into this weekend.
They host rock-bottom Watford having beaten the Hornets by five goals on each of their past three meetings at Anfield.
It doesn’t bode well for the visitors, and you can discover their fate on Merseyside by tuning into talkSPORT’s exclusive LIVE commentary of the match at 12:30pm!
However, being top at Christmas doesn’t necessarily bode well for Liverpool.
The last three occasions of a team failing to win the title having been top at Christmas have been the Reds (2008/09, 2013/14 and 2018/19).
With all that in mind, talkSPORT.com takes a look at where every club could end up by the end of this round of fixtures, using data from sportsvisualized.com.
