Video Assistant Referees are covering matchday officials’ backs by not overturning key decisions during games, believes talkSPORT reporter Ian Abrahams.
Listen back to the Moose’s brilliant rant against VAR after another Premier League weekend full of controversy.
There were plenty of goals across the top flight matches – and that was just in Manchester City’s 8-0 thrashing of Watford – but again VAR has stolen the headlines as pundits and supporters continue to question the new technology.
Chelsea and Spurs both had crucial goals ruled out for offside, well after players
and fans were celebrating having thought they had scored, while Bournemouth were denied a penalty in their derby win over Southampton, as were Burnley in their victory over Norwich.
Aston Villa were also left fuming with officials after seeing a clear penalty shout, and a chance to seal a 3-3 draw, waved away against Arsenal, despite the ball clearly striking Sokratis on the arm in the closing stages of the Gunners’ 3-2 comeback win.
And the Moose, who was at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, was also raging after another VARcical weekend – and it’s hard to argue with anything he said.
