The former Tottenham Hotspur playmaker swung in an inviting delivery after just two minutes of the contest, which managed to evade everyone in the box before bouncing between David Ospina’s legs and into the net.
It was exactly the start Inter dreamed of as they attempted to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the second leg of their semi-final clash.
Eriksen’s efforts, however, proved in vain as Napoli advanced to the final against Juventus on June 17 with a 2-1 aggregate win.
Dries Mertens scored the decisive goal four minutes before the interval after a superb break from Lorenzo Insigne.
The semi-final, originally scheduled for March 5, was pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Maurizio Sarri’s Juve booked their spot in the final on Friday after they played out a stalemate with AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium.
Inter lie nine points adrift of Sarri’s men at the top of Serie A, although they do have a game in hand over their rivals.
Conte’s side entertain Sampdoria next Sunday, while Juve face a trip to Bologna a day later.
