Jurgen Klopp has told talkSPORT he’s ‘not interested’ in the latest spectacular record his Liverpool side have set with their performances this season.
Following the 1-0 win at Tottenham on Saturday, it was discovered that the Reds are now the first team to ever record a haul of 61 points from the first 21 games of a season in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
However, when informed of this by talkSPORT’s Sam Matterface, Klopp replied: “I’m not sure, I don’t know exactly.
“The only thing I can say, when the first people told me after the game – I didn’t feel anything.
“It was not pride, I was not ecstatic or whatever.
“It was just, okay – that’s how it feels.”
The German boss added: “What we have to do is be as successful as possible for this football club.
“And so we try, day in and day out. Sometimes we do better, sometimes we do not so good.
“So far, these boys showed sensational character, but the season’s not over, it’s not decided.
“We have a good position, yes, that’s true, now we have to continue, that’s all really.
“When somebody tells me in ten years, ‘That was the best start ever and will stay forever the best start,’ then I’ll start thinking about it. Until then, I’m not interested.”
