Is there a better striker in Premier League history than Sergio Aguero?
Since joining Manchester City in 2011, he has gone about his business of scoring goals very effectively.
Aguero has been at the centre of Man City’s success, most notably scoring THAT dramatic stoppage-time winner against QPR to give City their first Premier League title in 2012.
However, he didn’t really get the recognition he deserved from people outside the club.
It wasn’t until the 2017/18 season, where Man City won the title by a country mile, when he finally made it into the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
He broke the record of being the club’s all-time leading goalscorer that season.
But now everyone is in agreement about his class with Premier League legend Alan Shearer labelling Aguero as the best foreign import the league has ever had.
Well, Aguero has now equalled a record that certainly supports Shearer’s view.
The Argentine scored Man City’s third and fifth goals in a comfortable match at Aston Villa on Sunday which moves him ahead of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry with 176 Premier League goals.
Aguero is fifth in the all-time list but is now the top scoring foreign player in Premier League history.
He did it in 255 matches, while Henry took 258 so Aguero did it quicker than the Frenchman too. Stunning.
