Napoli vs Liverpool: What has been said?

Jurgen Klopp: “We cannot go to Napoli and say we play with 60, 70, 80 per cent of what we usually do.

“It’s a completely different game. We will not have the ball as often and as long as we had it [in win over Newcastle].

“They are, unfortunately, really good. We will watch them and then we make decisions about how we can try to win against them. But that’s a proper opponent.

“They are really good and they caused us problems already and we now have to make sure the problems will not be that big this time.”

Napoli vs Liverpool: Team news

Divock Origi was not included in Liverpool’s travelling squad after twisting his ankle in the victory over Newcastle at the weekend.

Origi was withdrawn before half-time against the Magpies as Liverpool continued their 100 per cent winning start to the Premier League season.

Klopp said on Saturday Origi would undergo a scan and was hopeful the issue was “not that serious”, but the Belgian striker was absent from the 20-man group that will travel to Naples on Monday afternoon.

Rhian Brewster has taken Origi’s place in the squad.

Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson have been cleared, as expected, after Klopp confirmed the pair suffered minor knocks at the weekend.

Naby Keita and Alisson Becker remain sidelined but Klopp said last week he is hopeful the former will start training soon, having not featured since the Community Shield because of a hip/groin concern.
