N’Golo Kante insists he was not threatened by a man carrying a gun during a dispute between his main agent, Abdelkarim Douis, and other advisors.
Kante is alleged to have been told Douis would be killed if he did not sack him following a dispute relating to the commission made when the France midfielder left Leicester for Chelsea in summer 2016.
Rachid Saadna, one of Kante’s other advisors, along with his brother Houari, confronted the 28-year-old in the Paris suburb of Géraniums à Rueil-Malmaison, where his mother still lives, in March 2017.
As reported in Mediapart, Saadna claims his brother ‘may have been carrying a gun’, though Houari is said to have not pointed the weapon at Kante.
“My brother came intelligently,” Saadna recalled in a recording. “he did not come [to exert] violence on the little one. He gave him a choice.”
Saadna then explained how Houari threatened to kill Douis unless Kante sacked him.
Houari is alleged to have said: “My brother [Rachid Saadna] has been cheated, robbed, injured…
“I give you the choice. You work with a lawyer and you stop working with the other.
“Listen, I am not joking, either you sort this out or Karim Douis, I finish him, that will be it.”

Speaking to Mediapart, Kante denied the gun incident but did confirm a ‘discussion’ with the Saadna siblings.
Another comment, sent via Kante’s lawyer, read: “You seem to take me for an immature person, but I know my responsibilities, I make my choices freely and in good conscience.”
The incident was never taken to the authorities and it appears to have been settled, as Saadna shared the commission with Douis when Kante penned a contract extension with Chelsea this time last year.
