Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do something Manchester United haven’t done since 1993 on Monday night when the Red Devils welcome Southampton to Old Trafford.
Following a run of five consecutive wins, Solskjaer’s men are now in control of Champions League qualification, even after Man City’s European ban was lifted.
Fifth will no longer be good enough, but United can leapfrog Chelsea and Leicester into third if they win their game in hand against the in-form Saints.
While most teams have been rotating heavily due to the pile up of fixtures, Solskjaer has picked the exact same XI for the last four Premier League matches.
And why not? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Not only have United won their last four, they’re 17 matches unbeaten in all competitions. And they’ve managed to stay injury-free.
It would be difficult to single any United player out for criticism right now, and Solskjaer has hinted they could all retain their place.
“There’s so many things you have to consider when you manage a team,” said the manager ahead of the game.
“We’ve got players here champing at the bit, but also those that are in the rhythm.
“There are loads of decisions to be made, but they make it easier by playing and performing well. If we don’t get too many injuries, there’s no reason to change too much when you’re doing well.”
If United are unchanged for the fifth consecutive Premier League match, it would be the first time that has happened in 27 years.
Sir Alex Ferguson actually kept faith with the same group of players across six games in January and February 1993 as the club ended 24 years without a league title.

Moussa Djenepo, Yan Valery and Sofiane Boufal remain long-term absentees for Southampton, although they have no fresh injury problems.
Plus, Ralph Hasenhuttl could be boosted by the return of Jannik Vestergaard, who has missed the last two games with a muscle strain.
