Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with representatives for Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane as they plot a stunning transfer.

Manager Zinedine Zidane is seemingly keen on uniting the Senegalese sensation with current striker Karim Benzema as he bids to make the Spanish side a European powerhouse, as they once were.

Real have faded since Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit to Juventus in 2018 but are currently in a LaLiga title tussle with Barcelona, just two points behind their fierce rivals.

And as they seek to overtake them in the long-term, it seems they are ready to rock European football with a stunning swoop for one of the world’s best players.

Mane has come out of Mohamed Salah’s shadow in the last year and after scoring 22 Premier League goals last term he has already netted 10 times this season, making him the Reds’ top scorer.

According to Le10 Sport, Real Madrid have made contact with those around Mane to determine if a switch to LaLiga could happen.

It’s also believed manager Zidane may have personally spoken to the Senegal ace and attempt to convince him about a transfer.

Any potential deal, though, is only likely to occur in the summer and not the January transfer window, which has just opened.

Mane has three-and-a-half years left on his current contract at Anfield, which he signed back in November 2018, this should put Liverpool in a strong negotiating position.

Their current record sale is Philippe Coutinho, who left to join Barcelona for and initial £105million back in January 2018.

It’s extremely likely Mane would command a much higher fee should Real come calling in the summer.
