Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has revealed he was ‘frustrated’ with Mohamed Salah, but insists their bust-up is in the past.

Mane was raging after being substituted in the Reds’ 3-0 win over Burnley in August, furious that Salah had not played him through on goal moments before.

The Senegal international lost his cool after being substituted, however any suggestion of a rift was downplayed by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Now that the dust has settled, Mane has spoken out about the incident, who have scored a combined total of 10 goals so far this season.

He said: “I think things can happen in football.

“I felt a little bit frustrated because it is football and you want to score to score more goals – you can see Man City score eight, six, seven.

“For the team it was really important for us to score as many goals as possible.

“It can happen, he didn’t see me and I was frustrated. We are really, really good friends.”

Salah made fun of his ‘feud’ with Mane by posting a hilarious viral video on Twitter in which the duo feature as infants who are excited to see each other.

Mane has also joked about the argument with Liverpool team-mate Gini Wijnaldum.

The Senegal winger added: “Yesterday I said, ‘Gini, tell Mo why Sadio wanted to beat you in the Burnley game’.

“It is forgotten, all behind us.”

Mane and Salah will be aiming to secure a first Champions League win of the season for Liverpool when they host RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
