Tottenham are set to sign PSV Eindhoven star Steven Bergwijn for £25million, reports claim.
The Netherlands winger will become Jose Mourinho’s second signing as Spurs manager, following loan arrival Gedson Fernandes through the door.
The Athletic claim Spurs have agreed a £25million (€30m) fee with PSV to bring Bergwijn to north London.
The 22-year-old, who is a winger, but can also play centrally, has scored five goals and registered 10 assists in 16 Eredivisie appearances this season.
Bergwijn was left out of PSV’s matchday squad for Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Twente as the transfer rumours broke, and later refuted claims he had refused to play on social media.
It was confirmed by the Dutch club on Twitter that he will not train on Tuesday amid claims the deal for his transfer has been agreed.
He will be a welcome addition to Tottenham, who have been dealt a huge blow as Harry Kane will be ruled out until April with a hamstring injury.
Following the north Londoners’ 1-1 draw with Southampton in the FA Cup fourth-round on Saturday, Mourinho bemoaned his attacking options.
The Portuguese coach explained he was unable to rest Lucas Moura or Heung-min Son.
He said: “Our bench is not a bench of attacking solutions, which you can see. It’s not like I can send Lucas for a rest and put a striker there to come fresh and destroy a tired opponent.
“It’s not like I can take off Sonny and put a fresh winger there. So we have our limitations.

“They brought Che Adams, they brought Boufal, they had solutions on the bench to help them play against a tired team, which they did, so it’s frustrating, but it’s not a bad result.
“I’m not disappointed. I just want to play the Man City game and then after that we will think about Southampton.”
