Manchester United believe they are in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was desperate to sign the England international in the summer, identifying the teenager as a key cog in his rebuilding project at Old Trafford.
But failure to qualify for the Champions League ended United’s chances of signing Sancho and Daniel James has been given more game time.
The right flank has been a major problem for United for years, with Solskjaer still determined to add the winger to the United ranks.
According to The Telegraph, Dortmund are willing to cash in next summer after a difficult season in Germany. Reports even suggested the 19-year-old feels scapegoated for the club’s poor form.
The Telegraph claim that, although United cannot offer the same level of football as the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid, they are still winning the race.

Sancho wants to return to the Premier League, but Liverpool are willing to enter a bidding war for the winger.
It is suspected the teenager will cost around £100m, which would comfortably make him the most expensive player in British football history.
