Serge Gnabry was on fire at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during Bayern Munich’s 7-2 annihilation of Spurs in the Champions League.
In fact, the fans who watched Gnabry’s masterclass have now seen the Germany star score as many goals as Harry Kane in their new stadium.
It took Gnabry just 35 minutes to equal Kane’s total of four goals at Tottenham’s new arena, which opened six months ago at the beginning of April.
And the Bayern Munich winger is only one behind the top scorer at the ground – Heung-min Son – who has five.
Son actually opened the scoring for Tottenham on the night before Joshua Kimmich levelled things up with a sensational strike.
Bayern took the lead on the stroke of half-time thanks to a superb finish from Robert Lewandowski.
Most goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Heung-min Son – 5
Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry – 4
Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura – 3
Tanguy Ndombele – 2
The Poland striker picked up the loose ball at the edge of the area and swivelled to fire into the bottom corner.
Bayern extended their advantage eight minutes after the break as Gnabry broke at pace and fired into the bottom corner.
And Spurs’ misery was compounded as Gnabry struck again two minutes later, capitalising after Harry Winks lost possession.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were handed a lifeline as the referee pointed to the penalty spot for a foul on Danny Rose, with Harry Kane reducing the deficit to 4-2 on the hour mark.
Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Gnabry sealed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute after racing beyond the Spurs defence and slotting past Hugo Lloris from 15 yards.
There was still time for Lewandowski to side-foot home a sixth for the German giants and Gnabry was able to add his fourth – and a seventh for Bayern – in the 88th minute.
